Who are the Knights of Columbus?
The Knights of Columbus are the largest Catholic Men's
Fraternal Association in the world. See the
Membership
Page for more details.
How can I join?
To join St. Timothy's Council, you need to fill out a Form
100. That form is available from officers of the Council or in
the vestibule at St. Timothy's Church. You can call one of the
officers, or you can fill out the form on the
Contact
page. Once the form has been completed, you will be contacted
and met with to discuss what membership in the Knights can
mean to you and your family.
Why should I join?
In addition to the Fraternal benefits that are available to
the membership, you will also discover a camaraderie of
like-minded Catholic men who are interested in their faith,
their families, and their communities.
What do I get out of this?
What you put into it. The Knights are a wonderful
collection of men who care. While no large organization is
perfect, you will make new friends and have opportunities to
share and deepen your faith.
Are their any limitations on joining?
Yes. To join the Knights, you must be over 18. You must
also be a practical Catholic as understood by the Church. You
need to keep your dues current. You will get a much more from
the Knights if you are active and participating.
Do I have to pay dues? If so, how much are they?
Yes. The current dues are $40.00 per year. When you first
join, there is a one-time $10.00 administrative fee.
Do I have to participate?
No. Membership is voluntary. Participation is voluntary.
But why join if you are not going to participate. Does this
mean that you have to be at every meeting, and attend every
function? No. There are a lot of great men in St. Timothy's
Council. Why not join up and meet them?
How many parishes belong to this council?
St. Timothy's Catholic Church is the sole parish for St.
Timothy Council 12255 of the Knights of Columbus.
Does every parish have its own council?
Not yet. In those situations where one council services
several parishes, a Knight from each parish belongs to a
Parish Round Table. The purpose of these Round Tables is to
facilitate communication between the Knights and the parishes.
Someday, each parish will have its own Council.
